The 2016 Château Siaurac is a beautifully balanced, medium-bodied Lalande-de-Pomerol blend (74% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec). It is characterized by vibrant red and dark berry fruit, velvety tannins, and complex earthy and herbal undertones.
Tasting Profile:
  • Nose: Red cherry, strawberry, cassis, and black plum, complemented by aromatic notes of lavender, violets, and subtle earthy spices.
  • Palate: Juicy and succulent with bright acidity. Flavors of dark fruits, crushed berries, and hints of peppermint and fine wood lead to a velvety texture and a long, persistent finish.
  • Structure: Features finely honed, chalky tannins that are well-integrated, giving it a powerful but refined frame.
Ratings & Consensus:
  • James Suckling: 92 points – Highlights bright flowers, red berries, and a velvety, succulent palate.
  • Decanter: 92 points – Praises its juicy freshness, good persistence, and aromatic complexity.
  • Vinous (Antonio Galloni): 91 points – Notes its silky, perfumed, and exceptionally beautiful style.
Serving & Pairing:
The wine is entering its optimal drinking window and pairs exceptionally well with grilled steak, roasted or game meats, and mushroom-based dishes. It will benefit from an hour or two of decanting if opened young.
