The 2016 Château Yon-Figeac (a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé) is a dense, plush, and well-balanced Right Bank Bordeaux. Composed primarily of Merlot with a splash of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it offers a classic combination of concentrated fruit, fine-grained tannin structure, and a lingering finish.
Tasting Profile:
  • Nose: Expressive aromas of crème de cassis, ripe plum, and dark cherry, layered with notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, espresso, mint, and subtle oak spice.
  • Palate: Medium-to-full-bodied with a rich, unctuous texture. It features dark berry flavors, savory herbs, and earthy minerals, lifted by a racy, vibrant acidity.
  • Tannins: Ripe and polished, providing a solid structure without feeling overly aggressive or heavy.
Ratings & Cellaring:
  • Expert Score: 92/100 (Natalie MacLean)
  • Drinking Window: Reaching its peak and drinking beautifully, it can be cellared through 2030–2036
